Hey Everyone,
I think this is the longest newsletter I've sent out so far, we have lots of news and updates here at the club.
It's been a busy month at the club with everyone excited to come back after the January lockdowns! I'm happy to say we're seeing our highest attendance in the Adult 100 Series programs, all thanks to the two coaches leading the program; Vedran & Abbas. We're now opening registrations for our next set of Adult & Junior programming so if you're interested than sign-up below while there's still spots!
With Covid-19 mandates being relaxed across the province this brings a few changes to our policies at the club. We will no longer be requiring proof of vaccination for those entering the facility. Everyone is still required to wear a mask in the lounge, changerooms, & office areas at all times. We're also keeping showers closed in changerooms until restrictions loosen, we ask everyone to keep masks on even in the changerooms.
Because of mandates becoming relaxed we're also able to offer 4 more pickleball courts. We will have 4 pickleball courts for reservation and 4 for drop-ins that do not require a reservation to play on, but it's not guaranteed.
Finally we've had some changes to our pricing and payment systems. As time goes on we'll be adjusting pricing for everything in the club by about 4-5% rounded to the nearest $0.25, the last year has seen a large amount of inflation and unfortunately we're not immune to that.
Club credit can no longer be purchased at the front desk and will only be offered as an alternative to refunds, our system as it is right now is just not made to support club credit. In place of club credit we encourage members to put their card-on-file with us.
I hope to see you all at the club soon,
- Noah A.

Pickleball Bookings
Now that restrictions are loosening we're offering drop-ins once again!
The reservation system seems to have worked quite well for our pickleball players so we will be keeping it in place on 4 out of the 8 courts.
If you're coming for drop-ins and did not reserve a court please do not arrive before 11:15am.
We've improved the pickleball side of our website to allow for you to quickly see what courts are available here: sudburytennis.ca/pickleball-schedule

Sudbury Court Revitalization
In early 2021, the City of Greater Sudbury was successful in its application for Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program funding in the amount of $4,380,000. This funding will support the revitalization of 14 outdoor tennis court facilities and 14 outdoor basketball courts across the community over the next several years. The project aims to improve the quality of Greater Sudbury’s recreation and leisure infrastructure and increase utilization.
The City of Greater Sudbury has asked us to let our membership know they're looking for opinions on court configurations and what courts are in need of maintenance!
Unfortunately our outdoor court on Queens Athletic Field is not first on the list, but we will be looking for some help from grants or the city to help revitalize our outdoor courts, back walkways, and the retaining wall for the facility.
Over the time I've been with the club I've noticed an increase in cracks on Courts 3 & 4 which is likely due to the failing retaining wall running along Alder Street. In the next year we hope to secure funding to refurbish that retaining wall and have a well-lit access path to Alder street to allow for additional parking.

Inflationary Increases
As mentioned above we have been slowly changing prices to increase by 4% to match inflation this year. This has already come into effect on all programs, court bookings, and leagues.
Memberships will be next to increase in price, the only notable membership to be increasing above the inflationary rate would be the pickleball pass which we'll have making a jump from $25.00 to $30.00 to help cover the average monthly court usage costs of our Pickleball membership.
For any questions on our pricing changes, email us at frontdesk@sudburytennis.ca

Court Cleaning
It's about time...
To finish off this long newsletter I have some news everyones going to love, we've scheduled in some professional court cleaners to do a full 11 hour overnight cleaning of our club with industrial scrubbers and pressure washers.
To my knowledge our courts have never gotten a good scrubbing other than from our dusters, and after seeing some of the stains down there it needs it!
After this professional cleaning job we'll be watching to make sure everyone is wearing indoor shoes and doing check-ups to ensure nobody is eating food on the courts. Even sugary drinks can cause really bad stains on the courts porous surface. If you need to eat, come hang out in the lounge for a few minutes.
Expect some VERY squeaky clean courts on March 11th

Closing
Well that's it for our March newsletter, if you've read through this whole thing I'm impressed. This February has been a busy month for us but it's paying off; this February has been our most profitable month ever.
I appreciate all the support from our members and after months like these it leaves me excited for the future of our modest but prospering club.
Many thanks and I hope to see you all at the club,
- Noah A.
